After detoxing is having major chest pain, depression, anxiety attacks and not sleeping normal?

22 yr male detox from alchol and benzos after 5-7 years use. He was diagnosed with anxiety/panic attacks and ocd. Blood pressure out of control and rapid heart. Huge stomach pain/has GI scheduled next week. Should he be seen by a heart Dr. before the GI. Has detoxed with no meds but is lifeless and can't even walk the dog without breathing hard and going back to bed. PLEASE- nobody seems to want to tell me how to help him. His primary Dr could care less and he is on ACCESS so I can't take him to a Specialist without a referral. Would a psychiatrist be able to tell if it is the heart? Is all of this normal and how long will he be like this? I am his Gram and and doing everything I can to help him but I really need some guidance. I think he really needs Meds but he seems to have become immune. Something to do with the receptors in the brain due to heavy abuse. He really wants to get healed and put this all behind him but he is in constant pain. I need guidance. Someone please help me to help him!
