Anxiety cure What is the best remedy and therapy for social anxiety disorder. |
Answer 1/12 - Submitted 12/14/2010
Hello,
The anxiety can be cured by -
1.Psychotherapy
2.Pharmacological therapy.
The best psychotherapy as well as treatment for social anxiety ids CBT(COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THEARPY).This include making the affected person understand about his unrealistic process of thinking towards his anxiety or behavior.Gradually this behavior is changed & person is taken down to natural process of thinking. Then he is trained to cope up the somatic symptoms of anxiety.
The other part of the treatment is pharmacological therapy which include addition of anxiolytic medicines .These medicines include SSRI BENZODIAZEPINES,ETC.These medicines help in maintaining the level of GABA which are depleted in anxiety.
Hope this will help you.

People have had some success with CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and others have managed to deal with their social anxiety better once they got over their depression -- depression tends to be a common comorbidity to social anxiety. Having non-judgemental close friends can be very helpful because it's hard to go through this on your own. Social anxiety does seem to have a high correlation genetics-wise so it may very well be a lifelong ordeal for people and containment may be the best case scenario.
Hope this answers your question.

Always be conscious of what you are thinking and feeling in a situation that causes you to feel socially anxious. The major concern is that you will experience some kind of loss by your actions. Go into social situations knowing that it is impossible to fail, and that everything you are experiencing is a matter of perception. Free yourself, let go of rigid rules that cause you to be fearful and remember this is supposed to be fun.

Anxiety usually is derived by a phycological source. I am bi-polar and anxiety is one of my battles, probably the biggest battle that I face. As I read through the other answers, Ii knew I had to interject with this probablility. Our brains are full of chemicals...phycologically speaking, sometimes, usually through genetics, the chemicals no longer balance out. The "social" issue that you have is a symptom, not the problem. I have been prescribed Clonazepam by my psycologist. Only a true doctor can diagnose and then prescribe the proper medication(s) for you. Do not self medicate. Do not think that having anxiety is the problem...again, it is the symptom. To be told otherwise is like saying the car accident was caused by 2 cars crashing into eachother and not telling the rest of the story, the one person driving was drunk. Please trust me and just make an appointment, because i know anxiety is horrible. Good luck to you.

It's not a case of "one size fits all". There are different kinds of anxiety and different treatments. Are you only anxious in particular situations, or do you have a free-floating kind of anxiety? How long have you had it? Have you seen anyone for help? Sometimes a few sessions of talk therapy or behavior-modification work is enough, but other times it takes medication. There's no way to know till you find out the specifics every time.

Honest to God I have had the same problem for years, and after 10 years of trying to find help for my problem including taking meds, and therapy I've found something that is cheap and works.
I practice 2 exercises methods (not very strenuous, I assure you) daily that have baffled and overjoyed me by their effectiveness;
The methods release internal trauma held within the body/psyche
You can find the 2 exercises methods in the books; The healing codes by Alex Loyd and the revolutionary trauma release process.
They may seem like empty promises but I assure you they work, the only difficult thing is having the discipline to practice the regularly.
Take care and hope this helps.
Strangest dude.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a highly effective way of helping with anxiety and fear.
It is a simple, painless system of tapping acupuncture points on the body. This simple system helps to effectively remove the states of anxiety (and many other mental/emotional issues) and allows you to be much more relaxed when in situations which caused stress.
The system is very easy and free. Simply look for 'EFT' online and you will find some excellent guides for how to apply this technique for yourself.
I use it regularly in my clinics and find it to be highly effective.
I hope this helps you and gives you back the freedom you desire.

I think I might have some form of social anxiety disorder...or at least, I have it sometimes. I think the best help for social anxiety disorder might be...therapy. It really does help to talk it out with someone about your problems. You can then learn about the cause of these problems and how to fix it. I was in counseling all throughout college because my anxiety resulted in behavior that was prohibiting me from going to lectures and doing as well as I should be. I know how difficult it can be...but by taking baby steps, you can defeat it. I also recommend hanging out more often with friends and maybe meeting strangers in networking events. These types of activities will help you get more comfortable around people and soon, you will not suffer as much from Social Anxiety Disorder -- good luck!

There is no quick way to cure anxiety, Iv been a sufferer for over 8 years now and have just started to get treatment for it. Your first step should be to see your gp and explain your symptoms, they will probably advise medication as a first step, you should be cautious with this approach as it may be difficult to come off of these, dont be affraid to ask your gp in detail about this.
The second step will be some kind of therapy, it would be great if we could overcome our anxiety disorders alone but its definatley better to have support and encouagement. I've read many books on defeating anxiety, I always start off well but always end up back at square one!
This time I have signed up to a new group thearpy, it is based on gradual exposure to your fears training your mind to challenge negative unrealistic thoughts, so in the future you will automatically concentrate on positive realistic thinking.
my therapy is due to start in the next few weeks, please bear in mind the wait for a place can be quite considerable so the sooner you start the process the better. I asked my therapist on our first meet if this course was just going to help me cope with my anxiety or eliminate it completly and she assured me that in the future id look back to this time in my life and not believe how I used to react to social situations.
I hope this helps and to put your mind at rest these people will not judge you like I think everyone is doing! There job is to help you and they are very compassionate.
please dont delay, as soon as you've read ths phone your docs.

I see that Emile Coue's method is the best and proven way to cure this problem. What more he cured tons of people of all sorts imaginable illnesses. But in the current time hardly anybody is there to train us with his technique.
The scientific basis of his theory is that it is our imagination which ultimately controls us and it acts in exactly opposite direction when will power is applied to change the idea.
In short most of anxiety can be reduced simply by removing your effort/will power altogether.
