Question

Do Schizoid, Schizotypal and Paranoid characteristics go together?

I had to see a psychologist because I'm applying for SSI/SSDI due to agoraphobia and anxiety disorder.

The doctor says that I show signs of being 'overly dramatic' because I had too many symptoms that a real person with a psychological problem wouldn't have (according to MCMI-III and MMPI-2-RF diagnostic tests). He doesn't feel I'm intentionally malingering (thank goodness or I'd immediately be disqualified) but that I just have a dramatic style.

However, he noted that I did answer consistently in both tests though and scored high on (MCMI-III only because the MMPI-2-RF was invalid) schizoid, avoidant, depressive, dependent, negativistic, schizotypal, borderline, paranoid, anxiety, somatoform, dysthymia, post-traumatic stress and major depression.

Am I wrong in thinking that all those go together? Most of them are basically antisocial or depression, aren't they?

And what does 'not consistent with her history' mean when he spent less than an hour asking me questions?

If your doctor was using the term "Not consistent with history" after only an hour of questioning than I would be looking for another doctor! To know someone's mental history, one would think it would take much longer than an hour of prodding - you would think it would take months to profile somebody's history.
I can't understand why your doctor is calling you "overly dramatic" when you exhibit more characteristics normal.

All of these are classed under "Cluster A personality traits".

Paranoid personality is someone who interprets the world as a hostile or dangerous place. They assume that people are out to harm them.

Schizoid is someone who exhibits social detachment - they show little emotion, but at the same time have a rich or elaborate fantasy life.

And in a schizotypal person their thinking is magical or superstitious. They might believe that they have the power to see the future and control it with rituals or their thoughts.

I think it's possible for you to have all of these, as they all belong in the same category. But I believe, because you are applying for disability, that your doctor has conveniently said that there is no way you can be all of these.... because the human mind is limited to one disorder only.

I briefly looked up how to apply for disability, and a lot of the people that are applying for it aren't prepared for what they have to prove. 65% of all people applying for the first time are denied.

I would see another psychologist and get a second opinion to help your chances with getting approved! Good luck Prettyevil :)
