Do you know how to stop anxiety attacks? Not panic attacks, but darned close! Do you go outside in the middle of the night, when you can't go back to sleep, and jog of what? I've tried all of the popular remedies without getting anywhere with them.

If you've tried all the popular remedies like meditation, deep breathing exercises, exercise in general etc., you may want to try a natural remedy like St. John's Wort. This is a supplement used to stabilize mood and is often very effective for people with mild even moderate depression. It can help stabilize ups and downs in moods and help ward off anxiety as well.
Other than that, if you've tried everything else the next step may be to go to the doctor and they will likely prescribe you either a mood stabilizer or get you some Ativan or Xanax to take as needed when you feel an attack coming on. These medications are usually very good at helping control anxiety.
Which ever you decide to do be sure and consult your doctor before starting anything. Anxiety and panic attacks can be severe enough to hinder your everyday life. If it's not already that bad don't let it get to that point. See your doctor and get some medication to help you. Beware though, if you do get something like Ativan or Xanax they can make drowsy and loopy feeling at first so don't drive after taking them for awhile. Best wishes!

Good Luck and congratulations on them not progressing as far as all out panic attacks. I had my first full blow panic attack 47 years ago and over the last few years they've slowed down to maybe only a couple a year. At their peak I was having multiple attacks on a daily basis.
I've had them for 47 years so the first thing you can learn and remember is, they don't kill you!
I've learned how I start to feel, usually minutes before an attack occurs, and have, on many occasions have been able to control the onset, severity and longevity of the attacks by relaxation and breath control. Mentally reminding myself exactly what is going on, what to expect and what the outcome will be. This normally is effective.
I've learned certain things that will trigger them, such as sleep deprivation, feeling overly stressed at work, personal relationship problems. As far as the sleep deprivation I have to make my bedroom as inviting and comfortable as possible. If I'm in a living arrangement at the time I let everyone know that if I fall asleep while watching TV... Don't WAKE ME UP and tell me to go to bed, let me stay wherever I am. You wake me up, that's it, I can't go back to sleep. There have been times in the past where I've had to seek medical help for a prescription for sleep, although I hate taking them.
You might want to discuss this with your doctor and possibly get a prescription for a mild tranquilizer to help you relax before bedtime, not an actual sleeping pill, just something to take the edge off the anxiety, and ONLY take them when you feel anxious, not on a daily basis for an extended period of time.
