I live in California if I quit my job due to stress, can I collect unemployment? I have been with a company sence April first. I'm in California. I have lost 10 lb. in the past 6 months I don't work out and no diet change, and I don't have the 10 pounds to lose. My doctor was so concerned that she had me do lab work! The results came back normal; it was all from the stress. My doctor documented the anxiety, stress, depression, and insomnia. If I quit my job due to stress can I collect unemployment? |

The state unemployment office will call your last employer prior to your claim being approved - if they refuse it and say that you quit, you will be out of luck. And an employer who causes that much stress is not likely to be generous about payments.
Best thing to do is start looking for a new position ASAP.
