Is my 11 yr old in danger after taking my pill instead of hers?

My 11 yr old daughter normally takes prozac every morning. But this morning she accidentally took my pill-which was vyvance 60mg. We did not figure it out until later in the day, after she had been talking nonstop. I mean literally NONSTOP! She complained of dry mouth and wasn't hungry for her pizza at lunch(very unusual). Also she was stuttering and saying her nose felt like it was bleeding. It is 11:30 pm and she is still talking. I am worried she will not be able to go to sleep. She has PDD NOS and Anxiety Disorder.

This is just what happens when someone who does not have ADD takes an ADD medication. It will last all day, as it's meant to do so yes, she may have trouble getting to sleep tonight. As long as she is not feeling sick, having swelling of her facial areas, having diarrhea, chest pains, rapid or irregular heartbeating or starts vomiting then she's going to be fine in the morning. Because Vyvanse is a long-lasting medication you may still notice that she seems 'up' tomorrow, such as talking, though not as rapidly as today, but that will wear away throughout the day as long as she doesn't take another one.

You're just going to have to wait this out. Do not give her anything to help her sleep. Today is the weekend so you shouldn't have to worry about school, just let her sleep when she finally gets drowsy.

Watch for any signs of confusion as well. If she starts seeming like she's confused or lost even in her own home then she needs to go to the ER.

Prettyevil has given you good information here. She's going to have trouble going to sleep tonight. Give her lots of water to help her flush her system and put a video on for her to watch while you sleep. If anything changes then you need to take her into the ER but more than likely this will be out of her system by the morning.

Thanks so much for the responses. Looks like we are in for a sleepless night. First I noticed our pills are nearly identical. Will be much more careful.
