Is rescue remedy good for anxiety attacks?

I've heard that it has brandy. That ingredient has me wondering if this is actually good for anxiety attacks.

Original Bach Rescue Remedy is homeopathic solution containing extremely diluted amounts of the following flowers: impatiens, clematis, rock rose, cherry plum and star of Bethlehem. The minute amounts of flower essences is in a base consisting of 27% grape brandy.

The manufacturer implies that the "remedy" relieves impatience, shock and trauma, loss of self control, tension, pressure, panic/anxiety and/or enables a person not to live in a fantasy world. Bach Flower Rescue Remedy is reportedly used in times of stress to restore mental "balance".

Actual reviews of clinical trials of Bach Rescue Remedy concluded that the product was ineffective and produced nothing more than a placebo effect. There is such a minute amount of the flower "remedies" in the product that the maker claimed that the solution contains the "energetic" or "vibrational" nature of the flowers. Rescue Remedy has not been proven to treat any condition.

No this can make this worse
also do not take this , if you are taking antidepressants or anti anxiety as the two interfere with each other.

As with anything else if you believe that it will make you feel better then it could actually work. I've used rescue remedy when feeling really stressed and I do find that it allows me to relax more and clear my head of the things which are worrying me. However, I have no idea if it's simply in my head that the rescue remedy is going to make me feel a certain way so my body actually does relax! The other thing is that rescue remedy contains a small amount of alcohol and I'm very sensitive to alchohol (to the extent that I can't drink it) so it may be this which knocks me out a little bit.

There are a lot of methods which can be used to cope with anxiety attacks and deep breathing is an excellent one along with meditation and even excercise. If your anxiety attacks are really causing you a lot of problems and they are effecting your life it may be worth speaking to your doctor about going on medication even if it's only for a short while. Whilst products such as rescue remedy do seem to help some people it may be like sticking a band aid on a severed finger if your anxiety attacks are quite bad!

If you aren't currently taking anything at all for your anxiety attacks it may be worth giving rescue remedy a try to see if it helps you at all.

I found that Valerian Root is a great remedy for anxiety attacks and anything stress related. It is a natural relaxing agent that really takes the edge off. My daughter takes them to relieve her tension headaches and I'll take them usually at night to help me relax so I get a good nights sleep. My husband is a big man, and he has asked me for one from time to time to help him relax to take the anxiety off so he can relax. They have no side effects and you can find them in any local drug store, I recommend them to alot of my friends and family, they work. They don't make you feel sluggish, Valerian Root works naturally with your body.

I've heard that it may be like a sugar pill. I wanted to see if anyone had experiences with this and the alcohol made it worse for them.

I've read some articles that impressed me. I've heard it was used for nervous dental patients and before public speeches and it calms some people's nerves.
