Step1Eczema can be very uncomfortable and knowing a few different home remedies can help ease the urge to scratch. There are many different things that you can do to help relieve an eczema flare up and here are a few ....
Step2* OATMEAL BATH *
While there are many oatmeal bath products you can buy at the store, simply pouring in two cups of colloidal oatmeal into a tub of lukewarm water is a great eczema treatment. It relieves the uncomfortable itching that goes with eczema. Taking an oatmeal bath is one of the most used cures for eczema that really works!
Step3* MOISTURIZE *
Every day throughout the day you want to apply a lotion, especially after a shower or bath. Keeping your skin well hydrated and moisturized is the best thing that you can do for eczema. When you get out of the shower or bath pat your skin dry, do not rub and apply the lotion from head to toe. Make sure the lotion is not heavily perfumed or contains irritants.
Step4* APPLY VITAMIN E CREAM *
Vitamin E cream is extremely helpful for a flare up. It calms the skin and relieves the urge to scratch. The natural components contained in vitamin E are amazingly helpful for people that suffer from eczema.
Step5* AVOID SWEATING *
When you are experiencing a flare up it is essential that you avoid sweating. Sweating will worsen the eczema and cause it to be irritated. So avoid any exercise or other activities that will cause you to sweat more then normal until your flare up goes away.
Step6* TAKE ANTIHISTAMINES *
Taking an over the counter medicine like benadryl will help relieve the urge to scratch. While benadryl may cause sleepiness it is best to take it at night before bed. You can take it in pill form or a liquid form, just make sure you do not plan on operating any machinery or drive. In my experience's antihistamines caused myself and family members to become very tired.
Step7* USE HYPOALLERGENIC SOAPS AND DETERGENTS *
You want to chose a soap for your skin and your clothing that is hypoallergenic. This way it is easy on your skin and clothing that will be touching your skin. Harsh soaps and detergents can worsen eczema causing it to become irritated.
Step8* DRINK PLENTY OF WATER *
Keeping your body moisturized from the inside out is a great way to help reduce the amount of flare ups that you get. We all know that the recommended amount of water we should consume is eight, eight ounce glasses a day. You should stick to this rule each and every day. There is also a mixture of vinegar and honey that helps relive the symptoms of eczema. Combine one tablespoons of each vinegar and honey, mix well and drink it all at once.
Step9* AVOID CERTAIN FOODS AND DRINKS *
Some foods should be avoided during a flare up since they cause eczema to worsen or they do not help at all. Here is a list of things to avoid consuming during a flare up ....
Coffee
Tea
Soda
Alcohol
Chocolate
Sugar foods and drinks
Refined cereals
Cheese
Cow's milk
Eggs
Soy
Nuts
Wheat
Seafood
All of these may pose allergic reactions and cause a flare up to worsen. Although you may not be allergic to the food itself, you may be sensitive during a flare up and they can cause your symptoms to worsen. Of course smoking or being in contact with cigarette smoke is not helpful eithe
Step10* AVOID STRESS *
Stress is never good for us and it can weaken your immune system causing a flare up to worsen and even bring on a flare up. Reduce the amount of stress around you as much as possible for your health and well being.
Step11* WEAR BREATHABLE CLOTHING *
Wearing tight clothing that makes your skin sweat or irritated will only worsen your condition. It is important to wear clothing that allows your skin to breath.
Step12* APPLY COLD COMPRESSES *
Applying a cold compress to the itchy area can help with the urge to scratch the area and relieve the itch sensation. It will give you an instant relief from the itching and cool down the skin.
Step13If your eczema is worsening or simply does not go away after a few days, then you should see your doctor. Your doctor can prescribe you a topical steroid that is right for your condition. It comes in four different strengths for different degrees of eczema. There are also some over the counter topical creams for eczema that you can purchase.
While eczema will come and go learning to manage it is the best thing that you can do to treat it and reduce the amount of flare ups you get. Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water daily to help your body work its best and stay healthy

Absolutely you seek medication for him! Please see your doctor for treatment and preventive education. Eczema is a terrible condition. One of my female play mates had it during my childhood. Emotional stress makes it flare up and it itches extremely bad and when she would scratch it would bleed, cause sores and then skin would be exposed to infection. Please seek help as soon as possible, that is a miserable way to live. My best wishes.
