Have you taken your blood pressure? That would help determine how much risk you were at. If you have a cuff take it and that will help us help you better. If you don't have one then try to buy one sometime soon. They have automatic ones so that you can get a fast, accurate reading even when you're feeling jittery. And with you needing blood pressure medicine it's very important you be able to monitor it yourself.

Also, not taking your blood pressure medicine could be making this worse. My father's blood pressure rises a lot and fast if he forgets his medication and that sudden change will also elevate his pulse. This can cause dizziness, nausea, headache and other unpleasant side effects.

Most importantly, you need to relax. The more stressed you are about your pulse the higher it's going to stay in reaction to your stress.

It sounds like your adrenals are putting out too much epinephrine (adrenaline). This would account for both the excessive heart rate and the PVCs. Epinephrine is a stimulant to the heart increasing its rate of contraction. PVCs along with other arrhythmias can result from decreased blood flow to the heart, which leads to the formation of "ectopic pacemakers". These are simply cells in the heart acting as nodes that control heart contractions. Normally the heart rhythm is controlled by the SA and AV nodes of the heart. When the SA node fires it leads to atrial contraction, which is the first 'thump' you hear in a heart beat. Then the AV node fires causing the ventricles to contract, which is the second 'thump' you hear. With ectopic pacemakers other cells in the heart are acting like nodes, so instead of the heart going 'thump, thump'.....'thump, thump' the firing of the ectopic pacemakers causes the heart to have other contractions such as 'thump, thump, thump'.

Verapamil is in class called calcium channel blockers (CCBs). CCBs lower blood pressure by keeping calcium out of the blood vessels. Blood vessels are muscles, and muscles use calcium to contract. Therefore, blocking the entry of calcium with CCBs or pushing calcium out of blood vessels with something like magnesium malate or citrate will keep blood vessels relaxed.

In your case though it does not sound like your high blood pressure is from calcium. Instead it sounds like it is from epinephrine that not only increases the heart rate, but also constricts blood vessels leading to an increased blood pressure and the PVCs. Your doctor should have had you on a beta blocker, which lowers pulse and blood pressure by blocking excess epinephrine secretion. Or if you want to go naturally you could focus particularly on adaptogenic herbs such as ashwagandha, schisandra berry, jiaogulan, etc. to strengthen the adrenals so they do not overreact and over secrete epinephrine. Ashwagandha also has a natural calming effect since it raises levels of gamma amino butyric acid (GABA) in the brain, which is a natural calming/anti-anxiety amino acid produced by the body. Natural vitamin C and pantothenic acid sources are also excellent for strengthening the adrenals.

Make sure to stay away from stimulants like caffeine and nicotine since these increase epinephrine output.

Allergic responses will also lead to increased epinephrine output to counter the histamine and leukotrienes if the adrenals are not too shot. One clue to if the problem may be from allergic responses is that the excessive heart rate will come and go after exposure to allergens such as certain foods. Excess epinephrine release from adrenal tumors will create consistently high blood pressure and pulse rate.
