You should never stop taking these kinds of meds without first consulting with a doctor. These are similar to depression meds and there can be serious consequences if you quit without having a doctor supervision. I think it's great that you are going off of them, I'm sure you can do it. Although I would never recommend that you go off anti-anxiety or anti-depressant meds without the guidance of a physician, or cold turkey, if you don't want to go to your doctor, first try to see what it's like when you take 3/4 dose of your med for a week or two; then 1/2 your med for another week or two, then 1/4 for a week or two. If you feel the symptoms of anxiety at any point, you'll know that you're not ready to go off the meds completely. But honestly, you should at least talk to your physician over the phone about wanting to do this and coming up with a plan of attack for weaning off them.
