Mint leaves, Valeriana root and Hawthorn extracts (or tea) will calm you and will allow you to sleep like a baby.

It is not a drug, so No addiction or dependency is formed.

You can try a variety of teas like Chamomile and Earl Grey. They are relaxing and also very delicious.

I go with Valerian Root, it naturally relaxes you, you can take one a couple times a day to keep you relaxed. Since you can take up to four a day, you can then take the other two before you go to bed to get a good night's rest. There is no side effects to Valerian Root, it's just a natural way to relax.

Hello,

Other than the Chamomile (which is a mild sedative and muscle relaxant), and the Valerian (which takes 2 weeks of consistent use to show a significant result), you could try St John's Wort - which is rich in B group Vitamins. It assists the body's adaptation to stress triggers, and it is also a nervous system relaxant.

Only take St John's Wort, however, if you are not on any medications - as it can interfere with pharmaceuticals. If you are on medications, another alternative to St John's Wort which is excellent is Withania (also called Aswaghanda). This is an adaptive herb that assists in relieving stress and tension in the body - it also improves stamina and endurance similar to the effects of Ginseng.

If you are after something very mild and non-sedative, you could also try Green Tea. It contains a compound known as L-Theanine, which has been found to relieve anxiety by reducing the amount of Cortisol and Adrenalin (stress hormones) in the body.
