What non - medicinal approaches are there to deal with my anxiety and how can i control my night sweats. I have been taking anti-anxiety medication for 11 years and want to find alternate approaches to coping with anxiety and depression. Over the last few weeks I have been going through a tough time and cannot seem to focus on anything but being worried about work and money. I am sweating at night now, which has occured in past episodes with anxiety. I want to understand if there is anything else I can do to deal with this (other than to find another work assignment - I perform consulting work but am not going to be successful if all I do is stress when not employed!). thanks |

Hi ! Yes in this competitive world we all get depressed . It's ok ! standup and don't think too much . So what you have to do is as you are taking antidepressant i can also give you night sweat , to overcome depression take more fluid , juice , etc and start physical workout when you get time . Without good physical workout you cannot control abstract thoughts , then spend your time in net or with friend about improveing yourself .take deep breathing and relax technique often , read motivative lines from books And yes! you are back on your track . And do consult psychiatrist about it . Bye

Everyone has to find what works for them as each person is different. You may also go through phases where one thing helps more than another. You need to experiment and see what works. Some suggestions to try:
-Getting out and being around more people in some new settings
-Trying some new hobbies
-Looking for new friends
-Finding music that helps you escape. Videos may help as well.
-Observing sleeping patterns and what seems to work better, i.e. going to bed earlier or later
-Addressing your anxiety head on, learning to see how it doesn't help and is probably more of a habit, or even a false defense mechanism
Whatever the answers, and there won't be just one, they it won't be easy to find, but will be worthwhile to pursue and discover. Good luck!

Sometimes your on the wrong meds some of my friends tell me that the meds make them sleepy or restless idk that could maybe be helpfull if you got better meds.
If your having anxiety about something just think of this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson "always do what your afraid to do"
take baby steps every single day towards being happy and stress free.
making a list of things you need to focus on everyday and make sure you get them done it feels great to cross things off your to do lists and it keeps you organized.
prayer, meditaion working out or running helps too
just stay busy and out of the house being home doing nothing makes you think too much and that can get to you.

Hi there! I would first like to start off by saying that all of the above posts are awesome! Having suffered from OCD/Anxiety I wish web answers would have been available all those years ago. I would personally recommend St. Johns wort if you're looking for something to control anxiety, the main and only concern with the natural herb is sensitivity to light - but I had no problems with it! I would also highly recommend Reiki, or acupressure/acupuncture to deal with both the night sweats and the anxiety. All of those things are great for working out blockages that are responsible for these issues. I know after my first Reiki treatment I felt amazing and even went as far to become a practitioner!
Everything mentioned here is beneficial, I would suggest something natural for your night sweats, but the only thing I keep finding is information pertaining to menopause, and I don't know if this pertains to you? It could be an estrogen imbalance and a natural supplement like black cohosh may help to balance it out by increasing your estrogen levels!
I hope that you find relief from both your anxiety and night sweats :)
