When you step out of faith does that mean you shouldn't feel issues of fear and anxiety?

People throughout the world claim they have faith in Christ Jesus, but when it really comes down to a matter that asks one to leap out on his or her faith often they back down from their beliefs and "play it safe." Are you really trusting God when He requires you to completely depend on Him to carry you through the storms of life, especially those bigs ones that request total and complete faith? And when you step out on faith, is it wrong or should one never feel issues of fear and anxiety in doing so? Yes, God did not give us the spirit of fear, but because we are human is it altogether wrong to have these feelings of apprehension at times?

Fear is either one of two things-- the mind owning you rather than you owning your mind, or your body trying to protect yourself from danger.

Because the second is a defense mechanism that we should listen to, let's talk more about the first. What are these fears buzzing in our heads, and how should we handle them in relation to any faith we may have in God?

One thing that is a common answer for most troubles: meditation. Jesus meditated, the Buddha meditated, and today peace and enlightenment seekers all over the world meditate. Once you realize the uselessness of fear over situations out of our control, we find peace. Surrender to now, surrender to what is.

If it is a situation that you feel adamantly is not right which is causing you the fear, use your peaceful action to create change, and then let it go. Change the situation you are in for the better rather than dwelling on or worrying about it. This is not always possible, so when so, follow the above paragraph instead.

Some believe that through meditation, you strengthen your connection with God. You can hear messages God would have you hear, if only your mind were quiet enough. In situations where you cannot have any control and you are struggling with your fear, meditation will help you cope and understand God's will. I hope this was helpful. :)

"Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10) = meditation. ;)

Chist Himself was filled with anxiety and fear on the night he was to be arrested. when He prayed in the garden. We are told He sweat drops of blood. He prayed a long time. He prayed so long that the apostles who were with him fell asleep twice. He asked His Father if it were possible to let the comming ordeal pass him by. But then he added Your will be done not mine.

He acted on faith in spite of his fears. He trusted that God would ultimately deliver Him, and God did. God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day. Though I may fear the pain and anguish of death. I welcome death to this life. The only hisitations I have of leaving this life, are the loved ones that depend on me. Other than that I am ready to go.

Why would any Christian want to remain in this corrupt evil world, when heaven is waiting? Yes I fear pain and suffering, but I welcome death to this life. I look forward to heaven. When you walk out on faith. Make sure you do it for God and no one else.

Faith and fear can not coexist. When you reach out to God in prayer, you also have a responsibility to keep His commandments as you understand them. God knows your heart, your thoughts and the desires of your heart. If you put your complete faith and truly trust in him, you will be at peace and your anxiety will depart, even when the answer to your prayer is "no", or "not yet". Faith is believing that God is in control. That He knows you and loves you, and that He will bring you through the dark days of your life. Part of your answers will come as you devote your life to His service. And your faith and strength will grow as you do so.

When ;you start losing faith, God is still there, but he waits for you to come back to him. We can't do things on our own! Life will cause you anxiety and fear, and troubles, without the Lord. Just think of being alone on a deserted island, would you feel fear? Simple answer for you.........Don't step out of faith! Life would be nothing without it. Sometimes we feel pressures of others or we get caught up in this world we are in. But, in the Spiritual world, you need to be on one side. God's side. I hope some of these answers help you.

I agree with you. Faith, by its very definition has to be blind faith. If you take it apart to assess its risks and reasons, then it is no longer faith, it is something closer to science. Mark Twain in one of his books had (I think) it was Tom Sawyer explaining to Huck Finn: "Faith is believin' in something when you know it ain't so."
